Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Consumption sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 1.24%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5), which rose 3.83% or 0.37 points to trade at 10.02 at the close. Meanwhile, Bradespar SA (SA:BRAP4) added 3.49% or 0.85 points to end at 25.24 and Vale SA (SA:VALE3) was up 3.42% or 1.12 points to 33.83 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cielo SA (SA:CIEL3), which fell 1.71% or 0.37 points to trade at 21.33 at the close. TAESA UNT N2 (SA:TAEE11) declined 0.70% or 0.15 points to end at 21.38 and Cia Paranaense de Energia (SA:CPLE6) was down 0.37% or 0.10 points to 26.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 254 to 144 and 30 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.37% to 29.86.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.22% or 2.79 to $1278.11 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.21% or 0.63 to hit $52.53 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 0.90% or 1.12 to trade at $123.28 .
USD/BRL was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2435, while EUR/BRL rose 0.02% to 3.8149.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 93.83.
