Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Real Estate, Financials and Consumption sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 1.12%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA (SA:RAIL3), which rose 7.04% or 0.98 points to trade at 14.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Cyrela Brazil Realty SA (SA:CYRE3) added 6.02% or 0.76 points to end at 13.38 and Localiza Rent a Car SA (SA:RENT3) was up 5.65% or 1.42 points to 26.54 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB3), which fell 6.19% or 2.83 points to trade at 42.89 at the close. Petroleo Brasileiro SA (SA:PETR3) declined 2.47% or 0.72 points to end at 28.42 and Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3) was down 2.00% or 1.43 points to 70.07.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 237 to 211 and 28 ended unchanged.
Shares in RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA (SA:RAIL3) rose to 3-years highs; up 7.04% or 0.98 to 14.90.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 1.75% to 31.96.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.01% or 0.10 to $1290.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.46% or 0.33 to hit $72.02 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 0.62% or 0.75 to trade at $120.83 .
USD/BRL was down 0.81% to 3.6451, while EUR/BRL fell 0.89% to 4.2939.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 93.50.
