Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 1.08%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4), which rose 10.00% or 0.51 points to trade at 5.61 at the close. Meanwhile, Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (BVMF:CSNA3) added 8.95% or 1.09 points to end at 13.27 and Cogna Educacao SA (BVMF:COGN3) was up 7.20% or 0.09 points to 1.34 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were 3R Petroleum Oleo E Gas Sa (BVMF:BRAV3), which fell 6.54% or 1.19 points to trade at 17.01 at the close. Prio SA (BVMF:PRIO3) declined 4.84% or 2.17 points to end at 42.64 and Vivara Participacoes SA (BVMF:VIVA3) was down 3.13% or 0.86 points to 26.64.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 483 to 462 and 51 ended unchanged.
Shares in 3R Petroleum Oleo E Gas Sa (BVMF:BRAV3) fell to all time lows; down 6.54% or 1.19 to 17.01.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 3.39% to 27.41.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.40% or 10.65 to $2,695.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 3.19% or 2.22 to hit $67.47 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 1.68% or 4.53 to trade at $273.63 .
USD/BRL was down 0.61% to 5.44, while EUR/BRL fell 0.10% to 6.09.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 100.29.
