Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Real Estate and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 1.08%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were WEG SA (BVMF:WEGE3), which rose 10.23% or 4.69 points to trade at 50.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Tim Participacoes SA (BVMF:TIMS3) added 6.11% or 1.00 points to end at 17.37 and Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:ASAI3) was up 4.13% or 0.39 points to 9.83 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hypera SA (BVMF:HYPE3), which fell 2.78% or 0.82 points to trade at 28.71 at the close. JBS SA (BVMF:JBSS3) declined 2.43% or 0.84 points to end at 33.72 and Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4) was down 1.60% or 0.13 points to 8.02.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 647 to 327 and 51 ended unchanged.
Shares in WEG SA (BVMF:WEGE3) rose to all time highs; up 10.23% or 4.69 to 50.55.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.15% to 24.75.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.68% or 41.30 to $2,493.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 4.99% or 3.73 to hit $78.46 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 0.94% or 2.17 to trade at $228.63 .
USD/BRL was up 0.69% to 5.65, while EUR/BRL rose 0.76% to 6.12.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 103.83.
