Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Real Estate and Electric Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.85%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:VAMO3), which rose 12.08% or 0.64 points to trade at 5.94 at the close. Meanwhile, Atacadao SA (BVMF:CRFB3) added 7.67% or 0.46 points to end at 6.46 and Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:PETZ3) was up 7.61% or 0.29 points to 4.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were JBS SA (BVMF:JBSS3), which fell 3.91% or 1.56 points to trade at 38.37 at the close. BRF SA (BVMF:BRFS3) declined 3.28% or 0.94 points to end at 27.75 and Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (BVMF:SUZB3) was down 3.06% or 2.04 points to 64.61.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 564 to 406 and 43 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 5.23% to 29.70.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.26% or 33.89 to $2,719.69 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $68.38 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 1.19% or 3.93 to trade at $334.03 .
USD/BRL was down 0.56% to 6.04, while EUR/BRL fell 0.76% to 6.37.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 106.08.
