Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Real Estate, Industrials and Consumption sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.82% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Tim Participacoes SA (BVMF:TIMS3), which rose 4.47% or 0.72 points to trade at 16.82 at the close. Meanwhile, Lojas Renner SA (BVMF:LREN3) added 3.61% or 0.48 points to end at 13.78 and RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA (BVMF:RAIL3) was up 3.53% or 0.79 points to 23.14 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hypera SA (BVMF:HYPE3), which fell 1.37% or 0.40 points to trade at 28.81 at the close. CTEEP Cia de Transmissao de Energia (BVMF:TRPL4) declined 1.24% or 0.34 points to end at 27.18 and Alpargatas SA (BVMF:ALPA4) was down 1.17% or 0.11 points to 9.32.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 639 to 305 and 57 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.87% to 24.03 a new 3-months low.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.68% or 40.05 to $2,419.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.05% or 0.86 to hit $82.96 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 0.80% or 1.95 to trade at $245.50 .
USD/BRL was up 0.55% to 5.44, while EUR/BRL rose 0.84% to 5.91.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.54% at 104.16.
