Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Consumption sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.81%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Bradespar SA (SA:BRAP4), which rose 7.52% or 2.68 points to trade at 38.32 at the close. Meanwhile, Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA:CSNA3) added 5.69% or 0.50 points to end at 9.29 and Gerdau SA Pref (SA:GGBR4) was up 5.43% or 0.90 points to 17.46 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cyrela Brazil Realty SA (SA:CYRE3), which fell 2.55% or 0.27 points to trade at 10.31 at the close. MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA (SA:MRVE3) declined 2.48% or 0.30 points to end at 11.80 and Equatorial Energia SA (SA:EQTL3) was down 2.37% or 1.42 points to 58.41.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 235 to 212 and 37 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bradespar SA (SA:BRAP4) rose to 5-year highs; up 7.52% or 2.68 to 38.32.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.29% to 48.41.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.09% or 1.10 to $1205.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.32% or 0.23 to hit $72.31 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 0.82% or 0.80 to trade at $97.15 .
USD/BRL was down 0.42% to 4.0734, while EUR/BRL fell 0.33% to 4.7925.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 93.72.
