Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Real Estate, Industrials and Consumption sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.63%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were JBS SA (SA:JBSS3), which rose 12.89% or 1.27 points to trade at 11.12 at the close. Meanwhile, Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB3) added 7.49% or 2.72 points to end at 39.03 and Kroton Educacional SA (SA:KROT3) was up 6.13% or 0.63 points to 10.91 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDP - Energias do Brasil SA (SA:ENBR3), which fell 5.01% or 0.71 points to trade at 13.45 at the close. Cielo SA (SA:CIEL3) declined 4.24% or 0.44 points to end at 9.93 and Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5) was down 2.76% or 0.26 points to 9.15.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 208 to 203 and 37 ended unchanged.
Shares in JBS SA (SA:JBSS3) rose to 52-week highs; up 12.89% or 1.27 to 11.12. Shares in Cielo SA (SA:CIEL3) fell to 5-year lows; down 4.24% or 0.44 to 9.93.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.25% to 39.61.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.08% or 12.90 to $1212.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.97% or 0.54 to hit $56.23 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 3.25% or 3.55 to trade at $112.75 .
USD/BRL was down 0.52% to 3.7834, while EUR/BRL fell 0.13% to 4.2886.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.51% at 96.65.
