Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.45% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were B3 SA Brasil Bolsa Balcao (BVMF:B3SA3), which rose 3.89% or 0.43 points to trade at 11.48 at the close. Meanwhile, CSN Mineracao SA (BVMF:CMIN3) added 2.43% or 0.13 points to end at 5.47 and BRF SA (BVMF:BRFS3) was up 2.23% or 0.49 points to 22.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CTEEP Cia de Transmissao de Energia (BVMF:TRPL4), which fell 4.72% or 1.28 points to trade at 25.82 at the close. MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA (BVMF:MRVE3) declined 3.86% or 0.28 points to end at 6.98 and Cyrela Brazil Realty SA (BVMF:CYRE3) was down 3.73% or 0.79 points to 20.38.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 617 to 311 and 59 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.75% to 23.61 a new 3-months low.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.22% or 5.35 to $2,416.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.41% or 0.34 to hit $82.28 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 1.75% or 4.28 to trade at $249.13 .
USD/BRL was down 0.16% to 5.43, while EUR/BRL rose 0.17% to 5.92.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 103.78.
