Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5), which rose 5.42% or 0.43 points to trade at 8.37 at the close. Meanwhile, Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA:CSNA3) added 4.77% or 0.43 points to end at 9.44 and Metalurgica Gerdau SA (SA:GOAU4) was up 4.05% or 0.30 points to 7.71 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3), which fell 3.25% or 0.76 points to trade at 22.60 at the close. Banco do Brasil SA (SA:BBAS3) declined 2.53% or 0.79 points to end at 30.47 and Qualicorp SA (SA:QUAL3) was down 2.26% or 0.40 points to 17.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 269 to 191 and 42 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.24% to 37.90.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.08% or 12.80 to $1197.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.28% or 0.18 to hit $65.39 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 3.70% or 3.87 to trade at $100.83 .
USD/BRL was up 1.26% to 3.9585, while EUR/BRL rose 1.60% to 4.5443.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 95.68.
