Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.36% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Ez Tec SA (BVMF:EZTC3), which rose 3.63% or 0.52 points to trade at 14.83 at the close. Meanwhile, Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (BVMF:SUZB3) added 3.31% or 1.73 points to end at 54.03 and YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF:YDUQ3) was up 3.26% or 0.39 points to 12.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hypera SA (BVMF:HYPE3), which fell 1.90% or 0.56 points to trade at 28.91 at the close. CPFL Energia SA (BVMF:CPFE3) declined 1.78% or 0.60 points to end at 33.19 and Tim Participacoes SA (BVMF:TIMS3) was down 1.65% or 0.28 points to 16.67.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 527 to 403 and 79 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.91% to 23.16 a new 3-months low.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.23% or 5.55 to $2,426.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.23% or 0.19 to hit $80.83 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 2.89% or 7.20 to trade at $241.55 .
USD/BRL was up 0.27% to 5.44, while EUR/BRL rose 0.16% to 5.93.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 103.93.
