Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.31% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais SA USIMINAS Pref (BVMF:USIM5), which rose 4.55% or 0.37 points to trade at 8.51 at the close. Meanwhile, Ultrapar Participacoes SA (BVMF:UGPA3) added 3.02% or 0.68 points to end at 23.22 and Raizen SA Preferred (BVMF:RAIZ4) was up 2.90% or 0.09 points to 3.19 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF:CVCB3), which fell 6.25% or 0.13 points to trade at 1.95 at the close. Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:ASAI3) declined 2.79% or 0.31 points to end at 10.80 and Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos (BVMF:HAPV3) was down 2.64% or 0.11 points to 4.05.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 514 to 408 and 70 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.58% to 23.84.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.24% or 5.95 to $2,461.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.21% or 1.76 to hit $81.47 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 0.18% or 0.45 to trade at $244.05 .
USD/BRL was up 0.96% to 5.48, while EUR/BRL rose 1.34% to 6.00.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.49% at 103.45.
