Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Telecoms and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Ultrapar Participacoes SA (BVMF:UGPA3), which rose 3.34% or 0.77 points to trade at 23.79 at the close. Meanwhile, MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA (BVMF:MRVE3) added 2.66% or 0.20 points to end at 7.73 and Metalurgica Gerdau SA (BVMF:GOAU4) was up 2.19% or 0.23 points to 10.71 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4), which fell 8.33% or 0.37 points to trade at 4.07 at the close. Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF:CVCB3) declined 4.74% or 0.09 points to end at 1.81 and CSN Mineracao SA (BVMF:CMIN3) was down 4.37% or 0.27 points to 5.91.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 491 to 452 and 59 ended unchanged.
Shares in Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4) fell to all time lows; down 8.33% or 0.37 to 4.07.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 7.04% to 28.45.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.40% or 10.15 to $2,534.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.48% or 1.00 to hit $68.67 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 3.78% or 8.93 to trade at $244.93 .
USD/BRL was down 0.26% to 5.58, while EUR/BRL fell 0.44% to 6.16.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 101.58.
