Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumption, Financials and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were CEMIG - Companhia Energetica Minas Gerais Pref (SA:CMIG4), which rose 2.69% or 0.19 points to trade at 7.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Vale SA (SA:VALE3) added 2.37% or 0.84 points to end at 36.25 and Lojas Renner SA (SA:LREN3) was up 1.86% or 0.64 points to 34.97 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB3), which fell 3.14% or 0.60 points to trade at 18.53 at the close. Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA:CSNA3) declined 2.75% or 0.22 points to end at 7.78 and Qualicorp SA (SA:QUAL3) was down 2.46% or 0.81 points to 32.05.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 223 to 221 and 31 ended unchanged.
Shares in Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB3) fell to all time lows; falling 3.14% or 0.60 to 18.53.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 1.26% to 33.69.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.11% or 1.40 to $1293.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.34% or 0.20 to hit $57.91 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 1.28% or 1.64 to trade at $129.67 .
USD/BRL was down 0.45% to 3.2131, while EUR/BRL fell 0.90% to 3.8056.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 93.15.
