Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumption, Financials and Electric Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.10% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3), which rose 4.25% or 0.85 points to trade at 20.83 at the close. Meanwhile, Kroton Educacional SA (SA:KROT3) added 3.31% or 0.55 points to end at 17.18 and Klabin Unt (SA:KLBN11) was up 2.64% or 0.43 points to 16.74 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cia de Saneamento Basico do Estado (SA:SBSP3), which fell 6.58% or 2.12 points to trade at 30.12 at the close. Cia Paranaense de Energia (SA:CPLE6) declined 4.62% or 1.34 points to end at 27.65 and Qualicorp SA (SA:QUAL3) was down 3.41% or 1.22 points to 34.53.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 218 to 192 and 42 ended unchanged.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 3.09% to 25.09.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.97% or 12.54 to $1277.86 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.50% or 0.24 to hit $47.83 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 3.63% or 4.98 to trade at $132.25 .
USD/BRL was down 0.53% to 3.1717, while EUR/BRL fell 0.90% to 3.7223.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 93.74.
