Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Electric Power, Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4), which rose 5.36% or 0.18 points to trade at 3.54 at the close. Meanwhile, Brava Energia SA (BVMF:BRAV3) added 4.21% or 0.95 points to end at 23.52 and Lwsa SA (BVMF:LWSA3) was up 3.11% or 0.10 points to 3.32 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Automob Participações SA (BVMF:AMOB3), which fell 2.86% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.34 at the close. Ambev SA (BVMF:ABEV3) declined 2.73% or 0.33 points to end at 11.74 and IRB Brasil Resseguros SA (BVMF:IRBR3) was down 2.08% or 0.90 points to 42.45.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 544 to 409 and 55 ended unchanged.
Shares in Automob Participações SA (BVMF:AMOB3) fell to all time lows; losing 2.86% or 0.01 to 0.34.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.55% to 32.83.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.38% or 10.08 to $2,621.82 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.81% or 0.57 to hit $71.17 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract fell 1.19% or 3.85 to trade at $318.80 .
USD/BRL was down 0.30% to 6.18, while EUR/BRL fell 0.44% to 6.43.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 107.89.
