Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Construction & Materials, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.00%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were DIeteren SA (BR:IETB), which rose 1.56% or 0.485 points to trade at 31.490 at the close. Meanwhile, Delhaize Group (BR:DELB) added 1.48% or 1.25 points to end at 85.81 and Umicore NV (BR:UMI) was up 1.18% or 0.47 points to 39.88 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which fell 4.20% or 0.32 points to trade at 7.38 at the close. Ageas (BR:AGES) declined 2.25% or 0.905 points to end at 39.385 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) was down 1.08% or 1.50 points to 137.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 90 to 63 and 4 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.11% or 1.20 to $1112.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.92% or 1.40 to hit $46.50 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 3.37% or 1.71 to trade at $48.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.93% to 1.0862, while EUR/GBP fell 0.66% to 0.7063.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.78% at 98.01.
