Investing.com – Australia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Utilities, Industrials and IT sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 lost 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/ASX 200 were Pointsbet Holdings Ltd (ASX:PBH), which rose 6.33% or 0.05 points to trade at 0.84 at the close. Meanwhile, Nuix Ltd (ASX:NXL) added 5.10% or 0.10 points to end at 2.06 and Regis Resources Ltd (ASX:RRL) was up 4.76% or 0.10 points to 2.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kogan.com Ltd (ASX:KGN), which fell 27.45% or 1.93 points to trade at 5.10 at the close. Cleanaway Waste Management Ltd (ASX:CWY) declined 9.97% or 0.30 points to end at 2.71 and Zip Co Ltd (ASX:ZIP) was down 5.74% or 0.07 points to 1.15.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 4.00% to 11.35.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.30% or 7.10 to $2,331.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.16% or 0.13 to hit $82.94 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.20% or 0.18 to trade at $88.20 a barrel.
AUD/USD was unchanged 0.31% to 0.65, while AUD/JPY rose 0.56% to 101.45.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 105.51.
