Investing.com – Australia stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the IT, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 added 0.80%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/ASX 200 were Bravura Solutions Ltd (AX:BVS), which rose 8.15% or 0.470 points to trade at 6.240 at the close. Meanwhile, Afterpay Touch Group Ltd (AX:APT) added 6.68% or 1.710 points to end at 27.300 and Nine Entertainment Co Holdings Ltd (AX:NEC) was up 6.00% or 0.10 points to 1.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Super Retail Group Ltd (AX:SUL), which fell 8.78% or 0.760 points to trade at 7.900 at the close. Skycity Entertainment Group Ltd (AX:SKC) declined 4.69% or 0.180 points to end at 3.660 and Bank Of Queensland Ltd. (AX:BOQ) was down 4.10% or 0.380 points to 8.890.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 616 to 577 and 386 ended unchanged.

The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 5.71% to 11.610.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.40% or 5.15 to $1280.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.06% or 0.68 to hit $63.23 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.78% or 0.56 to trade at $71.50 a barrel.
AUD/USD was up 0.02% to 0.7049, while AUD/JPY rose 0.11% to 78.63.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 97.260.
