Investing.com – Australia stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, A-REITs and Metals & Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/ASX 200 were Kogan.com Ltd (ASX:KGN), which rose 6.29% or 0.22 points to trade at 3.72 at the close. Meanwhile, Nanosonics Ltd (ASX:NAN) added 5.38% or 0.19 points to end at 3.72 and Polynovo Ltd (ASX:PNV) was up 4.65% or 0.05 points to 1.13 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Link Administration Holdings Ltd (ASX:LNK), which fell 15.09% or 0.75 points to trade at 4.22 at the close. Healius Ltd (ASX:HLS) declined 4.52% or 0.19 points to end at 4.01 and National Australia Bank Ltd (ASX:NAB) was down 3.93% or 1.25 points to 30.53.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 768 to 676 and 373 ended unchanged.
The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 12.20% to 18.79.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.44% or 8.03 to $1,849.03 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.15% or 2.14 to hit $101.90 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.17% or 2.22 to trade at $104.68 a barrel.
AUD/USD was unchanged 0.56% to 0.70, while AUD/JPY rose 0.23% to 90.65.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 103.67.
