Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Insurance, Consumer Staples and Real Estate & Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.86% to hit a new 1-month low, while the ADX General index lost 0.67%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which rose 1.59% or 0.020 points to trade at 1.280 at the close. Meanwhile, Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD) added 1.45% or 0.120 points to end at 8.380 and Union Properties PJSC (DU:UPRO) was up 1.20% or 0.010 points to 0.840 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Oman Insurance Company P.S.C. (DU:OIC), which fell 9.55% or 0.190 points to trade at 1.800 at the close. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) declined 2.66% or 0.010 points to end at 0.366 and Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) was down 2.30% or 0.021 points to 0.894.
The top performers on the ADX General were Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which rose 3.70% to 0.280, Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which was up 1.49% to settle at 0.680 and Abu Dhabi National Hotels Co (AD:ADNH) which gained 1.13% to close at 2.69.
The worst performers were Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was down 4.05% to 0.710 in late trade, Finance House (AD:FH) which lost 3.23% to settle at 1.500 and Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which was down 2.82% to 0.690 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 20 to 10 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 16 fell and 5 advanced, while 4 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.57% or 0.29 to $50.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.12% or 0.63 to hit $57.05 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.00% or 0.05 to trade at $1297.45 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.62% to 4.3627.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 92.33.
