Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Finance & Investment, Real Estate & Construction and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 1.23% to hit a new 3-months high, while the ADX General index added 2.46%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC), which rose 4.97% or 0.190 points to trade at 4.010 at the close. Meanwhile, SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) added 4.27% or 0.050 points to end at 1.220 and Dubai Investments PJSC (DU:DINV) was up 2.76% or 0.060 points to 2.230 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which fell 1.71% or 0.020 points to trade at 1.150 at the close. National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) declined 1.41% or 0.030 points to end at 2.100 and Emirate Integrated Telecom Co PJSC (DU:DU) was down 1.30% or 0.070 points to 5.320.
The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Aviation (AD:ADAV) which rose 14.75% to 2.800, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was up 5.86% to settle at 2.350 and Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which gained 5.62% to close at 1.69.
The worst performers were Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which was down 9.43% to 0.480 in late trade, Sharjah Cement AD (AD:SCID) which lost 4.63% to settle at 1.030 and Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which was down 2.08% to 0.9400 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 22 to 13 and 3 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 16 rose and 7 declined, while 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) rose to all time highs; gaining 4.97% or 0.190 to 4.010.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.84% or 0.38 to $45.11 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.92% or 0.44 to hit $47.30 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.20% or 2.47 to trade at $1221.57 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6732, while EUR/AED fell 0.22% to 4.1828.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 95.58.
