Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.57%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which rose 1.63% or 0.335 points to trade at 20.930 at the close. Meanwhile, Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) added 1.08% or 0.110 points to end at 10.290 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) was up 0.94% or 0.110 points to 11.820 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG), which fell 1.97% or 0.141 points to trade at 7.013 at the close. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) declined 1.89% or 0.460 points to end at 23.840 and Mapfre (MC:MAP) was down 1.78% or 0.057 points to 3.141.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 107 to 58 and 20 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.20% or 2.45 to $1215.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.73% or 0.77 to hit $45.17 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.64% or 0.77 to trade at $47.65 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.38% to 1.1442, while EUR/GBP rose 0.69% to 0.8911.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 95.64.
