Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Banking and Finance & Investment sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 0.08%, while the ADX General index gained 0.75%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Mashreqbank PSC (DU:MASB), which rose 15.00% or 10.80 points to trade at 82.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Takaful House (DU:DTKF) added 6.09% or 0.070 points to end at 1.220 and Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) was up 4.17% or 0.05 points to 1.25 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which fell 9.93% or 0.140 points to trade at 1.270 at the close. Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) declined 8.00% or 0.220 points to end at 2.530 and Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) was down 3.39% or 0.080 points to 2.280.

The top performers on the ADX General were Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which rose 3.85% to 0.540, Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which was up 3.82% to settle at 1.63 and Waha Capital (AD:WAHA) which gained 3.37% to close at 1.840.

The worst performers were Sharjah Islami (AD:SIB) which was down 4.35% to 1.320 in late trade, Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) which lost 3.29% to settle at 2.350 and Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which was down 3.23% to 0.600 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 21 to 13 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 13 rose and 5 declined, while 7 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.33% or 0.16 to $49.39 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.40% or 0.21 to hit $52.34 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.44% or 5.65 to trade at $1271.85 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6732, while EUR/AED rose 0.13% to 3.9965.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 98.92.
