  • The European Commission says it will only withdraw a complaint against Ireland if the country fully recovers the $16B in back taxes from Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL).
  • The EU took Ireland to court last October due to a slow recovery process.
  • Last week, Ireland said it was finishing calculations on how much to collect and that those calculations would be finished before the end of April.
  • New series: Variety reports that M. Night Shyamalan will produce a thriller for Apple.
  • The straight-to-series, half-hour show has a 10pepisode order and Shyamalan scheduled to direct the first episode.
  • In a $1B original content push, Apple current projects include a drama series starring Jennifer Anniston and Reese Witherspoon, a reboot of Steven Spielberg’s “Amazing Stories”, and an anthology series from Kumail Nanjiana and Emily V. Gordon.
  • New hire: French site MacG says Apple has hired Michael Abbott, former VP of engineering at Twitter, GM at Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT), and head of Palm’s webOS. No confirmation from Apple or Abbott.
  • Apple shares are up 0.2%.
