Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Tourism, Wood, Paper & Printing and Wholesale & Retail Trade sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.10% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Vakiflar Bankasi (IS:VAKBN), which rose 5.15% or 0.250 points to trade at 5.100 at the close. Meanwhile, AK Enerji (IS:AKENR) added 4.17% or 0.050 points to end at 1.250 and Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO) was up 3.85% or 0.050 points to 1.350 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS), which fell 5.40% or 0.31 points to trade at 5.43 at the close. Karsan Otomotiv (IS:KARSN) declined 3.27% or 0.050 points to end at 1.480 and Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) was down 3.25% or 0.63 points to 18.76.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 167 to 163 and 78 ended unchanged.
Shares in Vakiflar Bankasi (IS:VAKBN) rose to 52-week highs; up 5.15% or 0.250 to 5.100. Shares in AK Enerji (IS:AKENR) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.17% or 0.050 to 1.250.
Gold for June delivery was down 1.66% or 20.70 to $1227.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.45% or 0.19 to hit $41.95 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.48% or 0.21 to trade at $44.39 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.24% to 2.8534, while EUR/TRY rose 0.22% to 3.2174.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 94.88.
