Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , Electronic Products Distribution and Computers & Peripherals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.03% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Sun Race Sturmey-Archer Inc (TW:1526), which rose 9.94% or 2.45 points to trade at 27.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Ace Pillar Co Ltd (TW:8374) added 9.93% or 2.05 points to end at 22.70 and Biostar Microtech International Corp (TW:2399) was up 8.01% or 1.25 points to 16.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were New Asia Construction & Development Corp (TW:2516), which fell 9.97% or 0.72 points to trade at 6.50 at the close. Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165) declined 9.95% or 3.00 points to end at 27.15 and Jourdeness Group Ltd (TW:4190) was down 9.63% or 6.30 points to 59.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 408 to 356 and 112 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sun Race Sturmey-Archer Inc (TW:1526) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 9.94% or 2.45 to 27.10. Shares in Ace Pillar Co Ltd (TW:8374) rose to 52-week highs; rising 9.93% or 2.05 to 22.70. Shares in Jourdeness Group Ltd (TW:4190) fell to all time lows; losing 9.63% or 6.30 to 59.10.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.66% or 0.32 to $48.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.60% or 0.31 to hit $51.59 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.01% or 0.18 to trade at $1290.28 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.14% to 30.345, while TWD/CNY rose 0.23% to 0.2208.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 93.38.
