Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 1.53%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Bankia SA (MC:BKIA), which rose 4.94% or 0.209 points to trade at 4.441 at the close. Meanwhile, Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) added 4.07% or 0.170 points to end at 4.350 and Banco Santander (MC:SAN) was up 3.63% or 0.210 points to 6.002 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aena Aeropuertos SA (MC:AENA), which fell 1.02% or 1.75 points to trade at 169.10 at the close. International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) declined 0.66% or 0.046 points to end at 6.903 and Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) was down 0.64% or 0.070 points to 10.825.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 135 to 79 and 30 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.53% or 18.98 to $1223.32 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.65% or 0.76 to hit $46.80 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.39% or 0.68 to trade at $49.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.59% to 1.1359, while EUR/GBP rose 0.02% to 0.8772.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.60% at 95.96.
