Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Finance & Investment, Consumer Staples and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 0.17% to hit a new 3-months high, while the ADX General index gained 0.41%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which rose 4.32% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.930 at the close. Meanwhile, Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) added 3.20% or 0.04 points to end at 1.29 and Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) was up 2.76% or 0.017 points to 0.632 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mashreqbank PSC (DU:MASB), which fell 4.88% or 4.00 points to trade at 78.00 at the close. Emaar Malls Group (DU:EMAA) declined 3.50% or 0.10 points to end at 2.76 and Takaful House (DU:DTKF) was down 2.85% or 0.017 points to 0.580.
The top performers on the ADX General were Methaq (AD:METH) which rose 14.29% to 0.880, Natl Bk Of Rak (AD:RAKB) which was up 5.99% to settle at 5.84 and Ad Commercial (AD:ADCB) which gained 3.81% to close at 7.36.
The worst performers were Green Crs Ins (AD:GCIC) which was down 9.90% to 0.910 in late trade, Gulf Medical Projects Co PSC (AD:GMPC) which lost 3.00% to settle at 2.26 and First Gulf Bk (AD:FGB) which was down 1.12% to 13.25 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 16 to 9 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 15 rose and 8 declined, while 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Mashreqbank PSC (DU:MASB) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.88% or 4.00 to 78.00.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.84% or 0.32 to $37.58 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.47% or 0.19 to hit $40.65 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.76% or 9.60 to trade at $1273.60 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED fell 0.10% to 4.0413.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 97.22.
