Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Financial Services & Real Estate and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.57%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE), which rose 3.44% or 0.900 points to trade at 27.100 at the close. Meanwhile, Repsol (MC:REP) added 3.28% or 0.315 points to end at 9.921 and Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) was up 3.25% or 0.141 points to 4.482 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which fell 2.72% or 0.545 points to trade at 19.515 at the close. Bankia (MC:BKIA) declined 1.39% or 0.011 points to end at 0.778 and Merlin Properties SA (MC:MRL) was down 0.80% or 0.08 points to 9.82.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 130 to 69 and 20 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.04% or 0.50 to $1257.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 3.57% or 1.44 to hit $41.80 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 3.76% or 1.61 to trade at $44.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1383, while EUR/GBP fell 0.22% to 0.7991.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 94.08.
