Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Building & Construction, Financial Services & Real Estate and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 1.35%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Acciona (MC:ANA), which rose 0.64% or 0.500 points to trade at 78.900 at the close. Meanwhile, Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) added 0.58% or 0.235 points to end at 40.535 and Grifols (MC:GRLS) was up 0.09% or 0.040 points to 42.510 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which fell 4.62% or 0.193 points to trade at 3.982 at the close. Obrascon Huarte Lain (MC:OHL) declined 4.17% or 0.237 points to end at 5.448 and Repsol (MC:REP) was down 4.11% or 0.450 points to 10.490.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 150 to 66 and 7 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.61% or 6.60 to $1069.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 3.41% or 1.30 to hit $36.80 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 2.68% or 1.01 to trade at $36.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.0977, while EUR/GBP rose 0.38% to 0.7376.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 97.95.
