Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.40% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which rose 6.95% or 14.590 points to trade at 224.500 at the close. Meanwhile, Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) added 4.65% or 0.490 points to end at 11.020 and Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) was up 4.54% or 1.050 points to 24.190 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB), which fell 3.48% or 3.200 points to trade at 88.690 at the close. Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB) declined 3.18% or 9.020 points to end at 275.000 and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD) was down 2.59% or 4.380 points to 164.900.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 74 to 74 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was down 0.18% or 2.30 to $1268.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 5.32% or 1.91 to hit $37.83 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 4.98% or 1.93 to trade at $40.65 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.22% to 17.7401, while EUR/MXN fell 0.03% to 19.5370.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 97.11.
