Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.47%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Inditex (MC:ITX), which rose 2.33% or 0.640 points to trade at 28.170 at the close. Meanwhile, Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) added 2.27% or 0.895 points to end at 40.315 and Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) was up 1.43% or 0.260 points to 18.480 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which fell 11.66% or 0.538 points to trade at 4.075 at the close. Obrascon Huarte Lain (MC:OHL) declined 7.14% or 0.408 points to end at 5.303 and Sacyr (MC:SCYR) was down 5.24% or 0.091 points to 1.647.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 106 to 92 and 17 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was down 2.12% or 27.45 to $1266.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.64% or 1.18 to hit $43.48 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 3.59% or 1.63 to trade at $43.74 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1398, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.7913.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.25% at 94.06.
