Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 1.11%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 2.18% or 0.0130 points to trade at 0.6100 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 1.89% or 0.0330 points to end at 1.7770 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was up 0.74% or 0.0010 points to 0.1370 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 2.74% or 0.0009 points to trade at 0.0320 at the close. EDP (LS:EDP) declined 1.98% or 0.0630 points to end at 3.1120 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was down 1.60% or 0.1030 points to 6.3250.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 35 to 14 and 3 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for July delivery was up 3.69% or 1.68 to $47.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.05% or 1.36 to hit $46.02 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.65% or 8.20 to trade at $1273.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.54% to 1.1433, while EUR/GBP rose 0.38% to 0.7904.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.50% at 93.75.
