Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Tourism and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Anadolu Cam (IS:ANACM), which rose 6.86% or 0.120 points to trade at 1.870 at the close. Meanwhile, Ege Endustri (IS:EGEEN) added 5.72% or 16.80 points to end at 310.50 and Anadolu Efes (IS:AEFES) was up 5.36% or 1.04 points to 20.44 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were T.S.K.B. (IS:TSKB), which fell 2.94% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.650 at the close. Migros Ticaret (IS:MGROS) declined 2.37% or 0.40 points to end at 16.46 and Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER) was down 1.76% or 0.80 points to 44.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 186 to 137 and 87 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was down 0.09% or 1.10 to $1229.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 4.13% or 1.50 to hit $37.84 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 2.97% or 1.15 to trade at $39.89 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.65% to 2.9175, while EUR/TRY rose 0.46% to 3.2354.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.21% at 96.86.
