Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Warehousing, Trading and Manufacturing sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 gained 0.28% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Nippon Soda Co., Ltd. (TOKYO:4041), which rose 5.49% or 42.0 points to trade at 807.0 at the close. Meanwhile, Shiseido Co., Ltd. (TOKYO:4911) added 4.73% or 130.5 points to end at 2890.5 and Sojitz Corp. (TOKYO:2768) was up 4.08% or 12.0 points to 306.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Konica Minolta, Inc. (TOKYO:4902), which fell 3.83% or 59.0 points to trade at 1483.0 at the close. Fujifilm Holdings Corp. (TOKYO:4901) declined 3.54% or 167.5 points to end at 4567.5 and Minebea Co., Ltd. (TOKYO:6479) was down 2.91% or 63.0 points to 2100.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 1107 to 776.

The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was up 5.23% to 17.72.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.11% or 0.07 to $61.08 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $64.47 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.17% or 2.00 to trade at $1178.60 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was down 0.02% to 123.92, while EUR/JPY rose 0.23% to 138.74.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 95.42.
