Chart courtesy of Stewart Solaka @Chicagostock – $ES_F Today’s 3D pivot range held. No rally, however buyers still managed to close above to retain control. #consolidation
After trading down to 2875.25 on Tuesday nights Globex session, the S&P 500 futures rallied to open Wednesdays regular trading hours at 2833.00. The ES initially rallied to test the overnight high at 2891.00, but only got as far as 2889.75, before heading back down to test the low.
After failing to print a new low, the futures drifted sideways in a 10 handle range for the rest of the day.
Going into the close, when the MiM came out showing $830M to buy, the ES was trading at 2879.00, it would then go on to print 2880.50 on the 3:00 cash close, and 2881.00 on the 3:15 futures close, down -6.00 handles on the day.
