MADRID,May 17 (Reuters) - The European Union and the Mercosur group of Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay relaunched stalled trade negotiations on Monday, Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero said.
The talks, which started more than a decade ago, were suspended in 2004. Mercosur countries said at that time they were not satisfied with an offer by the EU on access to agricultural markets and the EU wanted proposals by the Mercosur group to open its telecoms market and to protect EU industries.
