TOKYO, Nov 5 (Reuters) - Wal-Mart Stores said on Friday it is cooperating with an investigation into insider trading related to Seiyu Ltd, its Japan-based retail chain.
Earlier in the day, Japanese media reported that the Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission (SESC) was looking into stock transactions conducted when Wal-Mart made a offer to turn Seiyu into a fully-owned unit in 2007.
"We have fully cooperated with the authorities for their investigation and will continue to do so," said Tokyo-based spokeswoman Kumie Wama. (Reporting by James Topham; Editing by Joseph Radford)
