NEW YORK, Oct 21 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks trimmed earlier advances as the dollar gained ground while the euro lost strength.
The Dow Jones industrial average was up 20.77 points, or 0.19 percent, at 11,128.74. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index added 0.45 points, or 0.04 percent, at 1,178.62. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 1.18 points, or 0.05 percent, at 2,456.21.
