NEW YORK, Oct 5 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks rose at the open on Tuesday as global stimulative measures reassured investors that governments were taking protective steps against economic weakness.
* The Dow Jones industrial average gained 99.98 points, or 0.93 percent, to 10,851.25. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index climbed 11.97 points, or 1.05 percent, to 1,149.00. The Nasdaq Composite Index rose 27.37 points, or 1.17 percent, to 2,371.89.
