NEW YORK, Oct 20 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks rose on Wednesday on stronger earnings and outlooks from the industrial sector and a decline in the U.S. dollar that sent commodities higher, lifting materials and energy shares.
The Dow Jones industrial average gained 116.03 points, or 1.06 percent, to 11,094.65. The Standard & Poor's 500 Indexrose 10.76 points, or 0.92 percent, to 1,176.66. The Nasdaq Composite Index added 21.29 points, or 0.87 percent, to 2,458.24.
