NEW YORK, Nov 1 (Reuters) - Major U.S. stock indexes gave up gains of more than 1 percent to trade flat late on Monday, with bank shares among the top decliners.
The Dow Jones industrial average dipped 0.99 point, or 0.01 percent, to 11,117.50. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index edged up 0.29 point, or 0.02 percent, to 1,183.55. The Nasdaq Composite Index dropped 2.52 points, or 0.10 percent, to 2,504.89.
