NEW YORK, Sept 27 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks ticked lower at the open on Monday as investors paused to assess four straight weeks of gains on Wall Street and a flurry of acquisition deals.
The Dow Jones industrial average dropped 15.14 points, or 0.14 percent, to 10,845.12. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index fell 1.87 points, or 0.16 percent, to 1,146.80. The Nasdaq Composite Index lost 4.94 points, or 0.21 percent, to 2,376.28.
Stocks were also weighed by resurfacing concerns over euro zone countries after credit agency Moody's slashed its rating on Anglo Irish Bank's lower-grade debt, a move that pressured the euro and lifted German bunds.
