NEW YORK, Oct 26 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks modestly pared losses on Tuesday after data showed consumer confidence rose slightly in October.
The Dow Jones industrial average was down 25.81 points, or 0.23 percent, at 11,138.24. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index fell 2.89 points, or 0.24 percent, at 1,182.73. The Nasdaq Composite Index was off 8.06 points, or 0.32 percent, at 2,482.79.
