NEW YORK, Oct 21 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks rose at the open on Thursday, bolstered by upbeat corporate earnings, a stronger euro and reassuring data from China.
The Dow Jones industrial average gained 49.19 points, or 0.44 percent, to 11,157.16. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index rose 4.12 points, or 0.35 percent, to 1,182.29. The Nasdaq Composite Index added 12.52 points, or 0.51 percent, to 2,469.91.
