NEW YORK, Sept 23 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks retreated late on Thursday as financial stocks led a sell-off while the technology sector gave up much of its gains.
The Dow Jones industrial average fell 37.31 points, or 0.35 percent, to 10,702.00. The Standard & Poor's 500 dropped 5.19 points, or 0.46 percent, to 1,129.09. The Nasdaq Composite dipped 1.57 points, or 0.07 percent, to 2,332.98. (Reporting by Edward Krudy; Editing by Kenneth Barry)
