NEW YORK, Jan 5 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks ended higher on Wednesday after data showed the creation of three times as many private-sector jobs as expected in December.
The market extended a rally investors worried had come too far too fast.
Based on the latest available data, the Dow Jones industrial average was up 32.09 points, or 0.27 percent, at 11,723.27. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 6.39 points, or 0.50 percent, at 1,276.59. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 20.95 points, or 0.78 percent, at 2,702.20.
