NEW YORK, Sept 28 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks extended declines on Tuesday and the Nasdaq fell 1 percent after September data showed consumer confidence fell to its lowest level since February.
The Dow Jones industrial average dropped 58.65 points, or 0.54 percent, to 10,753.39. The Standard & Poor's 500 fell 7.60 points, or 0.67 percent, to 1,134.56. The Nasdaq Composite lost 22.48 points, or 0.95 percent, to 2,347.29.
