NEW YORK, Sept 20 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks rose at the open on Monday, building on three straight weeks of gains as investors awaited housing data later in the day and a possible Federal Reserve statement on the economy on Tuesday.
The Dow Jones industrial average rose 22.48 points, or 0.21 percent, to 10,630.33. The Standard & Poor's 500 gained 2.44 points, or 0.22 percent, to 1,128.03. The Nasdaq Composite added 4.34 points, or 0.19 percent, to 2,319.95.
